I have been through two intensive eye tests (6 & 7 months after having Lasik eye surgery). The fluid can be part of the glaucoma test, which as the picture above shows works on pressure, as in air is blown against the eyeball. You don't feel anything though.

I also had fluid put in to dilate the pupils, that was uncomfortable for a few hours afterwards.... your eye cannot focus properly short distance so even using a cellphone or looking at your watch is near impossible, and the worse thing was walking out into the sunshine. It was so bright and even with sunglasses on my eyes were streaming as the pupils wouldn't contract. Thank god my wife came along and could drive me home. Worth asking about that one if you need to drive afterward.

They've done everything possible to my eyes and I can safely say no medical test will involve sticking a needle into your eye. Even the Lasik didn't involve anything actually touching my eye ... it was a Laaaaaaaser.

I also had a test where I sat in a dark room with welding glasses on for 10 minutes then had to read black and coloured letters and shapes against bright background, then bright letters against a black background. Imagine someone shining a car headlight into your eyes when you first wake up in the morning ....

As for the other medical tests, have you guys not heard of the 'Hold and Cough' test? They get trainees to come in and watch that one smile.gif
