I think you will find it will help in him later on down the line career wise e.g only: more likely to placed in an - Airline(like air nz etc) team that perform aircraft acceptance testing/checks/intro into service for new aircraft into the company - that sort of thing: as that sort of position is more likely to go to a relevent degree qualified pilot as opposed to non degree pilot.
