laugh.gif laugh.gif I read on Wikipedia that they've decided to get 777-300ERs instead for the main trunk NZ routes?

I was making fun of the fact that Wikipedia is one of the most unreliable sources of information on the internet as anyone can edit topics...

I have heard more "things" which point to the boeing product (quite convincing).
I wish I could say more but I must remian silent on these.
Let's say I would be extremely shocked if ANZ opted for the AB.

Like you I know, every pilot/engineer etc that has flown or worked with both all prefer the Boeing. Will be interesting to see, but my money is on more 737's too. As well as that I reckon ANZ are going to find out that the A320's weren't all that good a buy either.

If ANZ chooses Airbus I won't fly them domestically again. Would rather fly Qantas or Pacific Blue in a Boeing.

Bet if it wouldn't cost the airline industry so much, the Airbus fleet would be grounded right now.

Why would they do that - just because one crashed? If that was the case they should ground all airliners.

If ANZ don't go with 737, the only domestic airline with them will be Pac Blue.......qantas going, and jetstar has a320's

Given they already have training facilities (i.e. simulator/s) for the A320 (and taking into account Airbus' cockpit commonality), it would probably be cost-efficient (with regards to training at least) to retain commonality, rather than buying a simulator for the 737NG series.

I suppose the flipside might be that they have a well-established Boeing technical operations base to build on, whereas their Airbus technical operations are relatively new.

Realistically, anything that we can come up with would have been thought of by the boffins at Air NZ. Makes for interesting discussion though, huh.

Replace them with what? blink.gif That's what Alex is saying... If they replace the 733s with 737NGs, they will have to invest in NG sims etc but if they get A319/320s then they can use the current sims and training/maintenance infrastructure...
