Does anyone have any other info or pics on this topic.. i heard on the radio that it was an Airbus.. but this report says Boeing.. can anyone confirm?

"An Air New Zealand aircraft was forced to turn around this morning after the pilots noticed a crack in the windscreen.

The Boeing 737 took off from Auckland Airport at around 8am, heading to Wellington.

A spokeswoman for the airline says the crack appeared in the outer pane of the cockpit window, on the captain's side.

The jet turned around as a precautionary measure and landed at Auckland Airport without a problem. Those onboard were moved to an awaiting plane which took them to the capital.

The spokeswoman says the pilots followed standard operating procedures.

The aircraft is being inspected by engineers and is expected to return to service later today."

Never seen an A320 fly AKL-WLG, only AKL-CHC and very rarely, plus the media always gets it wrong, so Ill take a stab at the 733.

Possibly ANZ407 which appears to have departed NZAA at 0736 and apparently arrived back at NZAA 0812, a 733

Another ridiculous media piece. Windsceens crack, its no big deal as there are multiple laminations of glass and plastic. A precautionary landing is all it is, about as big a story as a lightbulb blowing in the cockpit or the coffee being cold.......
