Does a Class 1 medical certificate role over to being a Class 2 medical certificate, thus still covering you to fly privately, when it lapses (i.e. after 1 year)??

Is it for the full 5 years as per a 'normal' Class 2 for an under 40 year old.

I read that in the law book, but my class two medical only last for two years unless they changed it :S

Thanks guys. I thought that was the case but couldn't remember the specifics........I just wanted to make sure I was still covered until I renew my Class 1.
