Wouldn't think he'd have the patience or intelligence tbh.
That's rather a strange comment - I can only assume you know the man well...?
There's nothing new about people being awarded "honorary" degrees or doctorates. The Air Force are obviously aware of his interest in Aviation
and have seen fit to recognise it. I have just finished reading a brilliant book on Charles Kingsford Smith by Peter Fitzsimons, an ex Wallaby
forward. Applying this logic it would be assumed he'd be too thick to write it.

Yea, what exactly does he get to do? Does he wear uniform when he wants? And do people now have to call him 'sir'? And does he get to eat in the officers' mess ?!!?!?!

Good on em.
Doesn't mean either he or the reporter know how to spell Woodbourne though:
Richie McCaw wrote:Last year I popped up to Woodburn, Blenheim, and talked to some of their officer cadets and it went from there. I talked to them a bit about the leadership stuff we do in the All Blacks and I think there are quite a few similarities between what we do in the All Blacks team to what they do in the Air Force.

I didn't mean the fact he became a Hon Sqn Ldr, I meant the fact he is a pilot, I wouldn't have picked it. Good for him though!

I of would thought been All Blacks captain would require some intelligence and patience..Richie Mc Caw has been a pilot for few years now ..mostly gliders and is patron of the Southern DC-3 trust

Richie co pilots a DC3 in the CHCH region and the Air NZ Captain that flies with him in the DC3 describes him as a 'natural' so I think that says something for his flying ability.

Good on Richie.
Ha ha Ian sooo true. He has more strike wings than the RNZAF. Love it.
He has a real passion for flying, awesome. As you all know once you get the bug there is no going back.
