Well, the just secured the loan- but its certainly going to go downhill from here.

ANA is just killing them in the Asian market, and they aren't expanding into the western world like other Asian Airlines. How many people fly from Sydney to London on Qantas, Emirates, Cathay or Singapore? How many on JAL..?

IMHO US-Asia market with Tokyo as a gateway is much more interesting and bigger market than enter competition with with SQ or EK in a more tiny market. If they want this market, they should switch to ST, even im fan of OW, AA is not that partner as DL can be

Been watching this whole JAL thing unfold the last couple of days on the news, I remember them saying the airline has had a 90% share price drop, and the airline its self was valued at around $170m (though I find that hard to believe, unless all their aircraft are leased?).

JAL will probably come back, I don't see the Japan Government letting the airline go bust. On the other hand, they've been bailing out JAL and giving them money all the time, there comes a time when you have to cut out giving money to places that can't turn it into a profit.

probably same story as LH bought OS for less than a mln euro(with the commitment to repay debts worth more than few hundred million),so they include debts in value, and JAL debts are bigger than OS
