Hi all,

As the twelfth biennial Warbirds Over Wanaka is now less than one week away from kicking off above the Clutha River, I thought it time to ask who from NZFF will be there?

I fly into Queenstown on Thursday, staying with two fellow members of the Wings Over Cambridge forum and commuting to Luggate Airfield early each morning via rental car. I'll be easy to spot - wearing a white shirt with Fletchers on it! Leaving Queenstown Tuesday.

It should be one heck of a show, with the RAAF sending FOUR F/A-18 Hornets, the Commemorative Air Force in the US sending a genuine Mitsubishi Zero fighter (now being readied to ferry at Tauranga), a German lady wingwalker with a Stearman, Brendon Deere's Spitfire, Jurgis Kairys and all the old favourites (Vampires, L-39s, Mustangs, P-40s, Corsair, Harvards, vintage de Havillands).

See you there!

Yeah, well I was hoping to go, but a fairly recent change in marital status has left me with a $2000/month child support bill that neatly removed any chance of being able to afford the trip (along with food, internet, phone, power...) So yeah....maybe next time...

Haven't been since 2002, when I was treated to a "Gold Card" status - still have the Cap, T shirt and passes to remind me..

The standard of my local one (Tauranga) has now got to the status where it's no longer so important to be in Wanaka, much
as I'd like to.

One thing about belonging on this forum is that I'm sure that there will be lots of nice shots to drool over.

Pity our NZFF tent/stand won't be featuring there, bit of a logistics and cost nightmare I suspect.

I won't be there this year unfortunately, first Easter airshow I've missed since 2000. Over the last few years the show seems to have gone downhill slightly so Dad and I decided we'll give it a miss. Take lots of pics guys!
