Got it Glenn ...."The airline reported, that the aeroplane was just before descent towards Kochi, when the aeroplane experienced severe turbulence for a short period of time causing altitude deviations of up to 200 feet."

Where do these B/S reports come from (like the one HT saw)....Im not knocking anyone, we tend to trust what we read/hear from the media......its almost like if its not interesting enough...just add a bit, and let it out....add a bit of rumour to that, and you get yourself a headline......makes me sick.

Point in case, the tragic accident yesterday....and all the mis-reporting regarding the number of dead......these people a just vultures, they feed on rubbish....as i said, makes me sick.
Thanks for the heads up on the that site.

Yes and telecom xtras homepage still carries the incorrect report on yesterdays tragedy, more than 24 hours after it was realised it was a mistake. Makes me sick also.
I work in a role where I am priviledge to a lot of background info on news worthy events and I constantly see incorrect reports in the media. This often causes alot of harm to indivduals and professions as often it makes them look incompentant. Qantas springs to mind where the media are jumping on every incident they have, when in actual fact most of them are not the fault of the airline.

Thanks for your thoughts

Glenn

I thought the initial report seemed just a little too dramatic to be likely. I suppose, unfortunately, the best way to get peoples' attention is to sensationalise stories as much as possible, even when they turn out to be completely factually incorrect.
