Well....shes now got her prop on....and standing on her front feet. From now on progress will be a little faster. thumbup1.gif

Adam , this is one they swapped for the Razorback P-47 gate guard that stood at MOTAT one i happened to stand on as well , Thanks Marty for the photos , the final scheme , now that mat stir many , the good thing is with these photos and further progress this plane will fly in the virtual world shorter than we think . cool.gif

Yes...that would be nice. I think they had one once, and traded it for something else, but dont quote me....someone will know.

The museum / RNZAF were gifted a Corsair by the Disney corporation for their asistance in making the movie 'The Rescue' back in the 1980's. Unfortunately it was a very late model of the corsair - F4U-5N Korean war vintage. It would have been a waste of a good aircraft to try and convert it back to an earlier model, so it was swapped for the partially restored P40 we see in these photos. The restoration that had been done to the P40 prior to the RNZAF recieving it was pretty average. Looks alot better now.
