Moan

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

I am off on a moan again. This time it is the Portuguese airline TAP. I was trying to book a through ticket with them, but there was an error on the website with the taxes, so I emailed TAP before I booked. Then another email because TAP did not reply, and another, and another.......

Sent them FIVE emails to ask them to correct the taxes, but they did not reply. So TAP have now lost 2 bookings. Is it just me, or is airline customer 'service' getting worse. From what I read on the internet, it is not just me though, lots of reports that TAP seem to ignore both emails and telephone calls. I am currently dealing with Alitalia as well, and their customer 'service' seems to be just as bad. Hard to believe that the country that produces Ferrari cars can have an airline as bad as Alitalia.

Anyway, FIVE emails to TAP was the limit, so now it is time to choose another airline.

Sorry for the moan, but I do not like being treated like this. If an airline wants my money then it has to do better than this.

Smooth landings.

I had to laugh at this one HT. You're dealing with 'Mediterranean' countries, not strictly true of Portugal but culturally similar. These guys are infamous for their horizontal approach to everything in life......nothing ever gets done quickly, if at all and it's not rude it's just the way it is..... winkyy.gif I've been to these places a few times and have friends and family that live/d in these countries - customer service is funny, great most of the time but if they don't want to do something......they just won't biggrin.gif

....and Ferraris are always breaking down.
