Auckland Airport runway outage delays flights

Flights in and out of Auckland airport have been disrupted tonight because lights have failed on some of the runways.

One flight has been diverted to Wellington and four departing flights have been delayed.

An airport spokesperson says the runway lights are operated by Airways Corp, who are working to solve the problem.

Updated flight information is on the Auckland Airport website

Airport lights back on
NewstalkZB | 06:38am Sun 28 Nov 2010

Auckland Airport's runway lights are back on, after an outage last night disrupted in and outbound flights.
The lights went out from around 1030pm until 1230am and at least 18 incoming flights were diverted, and another eight departures delayed.
An airport spokesman says the situation has been resolved, and that Airways Corporation is responsible for the lights.
The spokesman says it'll now be up to the individual airlines to clear the backlog.
