I was getting ready to record a race when I spotted this Mustang throwing a nice big loop on the dragstrip next door (or maybe at Hampton Downs)
No sound unfortunately, the microphone battery chose that moment to die

Yeah there's a section of airspace that extends south from the base of the Hunuas down to the Waikato River to Hampton Downs, across to Maramarua and then back up the western side of the Firth of Thames, which is the Mercer General Aviation Area.
Seeing as the summer airshow season is just around the corner, you'll be able to spot all the Ardmore based birds practicing their routines around here. We've even been lucky enough to share the skies with L-39 Albatross ZK-WLM this last week or so!

That was the first time I'd tried to video a small plane doing that sort of thing, I didn't realise how hard it is to keep the thing centred in the crosshairs. I suppose it was good practise for if I ever get along to an airshow ...... LOL

Adam "Adamski" had the funny saying when the Mustang fly,s 'it s time to open his lunch and choose a sandwich , i think for me this could be said for the Thunder Mustang , it just dont cut the mustard.

earlier in the year I was marshalling at Hampton Downs and we'd just finished up for the day. I was walking back to the bits from across the track at turn one when I saw the Thunder Mustang approaching, I did the cliche thing and waved my marshalling flags to see if I could get their attention - turns out I did, I got a low pass and a barrel roll out of it, he flew straight down at me so it was no accident either!
