Air New Zealand to show off new plane

Air New Zealand will be showing off its new plane over the skies of Auckland this morning.

The new 777-300ER will be flown around 2,000ft above the Waitemata Harbour, passing the city and Mission Bay at around 8.15am. The fly past will also be streamed live on the internet.

The aircraft is one of five Air New Zealand has ordered. The first guaranteed opportunity to fly in the new triple seven is from April on flights to Los Angeles and through to London.

But passengers travelling to Australia during January may be in for a surprise as the airline plans to fly the plane across the Tasman a few times before then.

the live feed was pretty awesome, they had a 'chase chopper' flying around it as it landed with awesome closeup shots of the touchdown, however the water salute was a little sad with one of the water jets not actually getting over the plane! And there was of course a special mention from Rico lol biggrin.gif
Good to see it home, now I cant wait to try out the new seats!

Cheer, Jimmy
