Doug Brooker's Sptitfire has developed an oil leak. It appears that an oil seal has been crushed on its installation (in the US I think) and being a great British design, requires the whole engine to be almost rebuilt. 50/50 chance next weekend I've heard.

What is it about Masterton and Doug???

At least when this British engine developed oil problems it didn't throw chunks of the prop through the wing !

Fingers crossed they'll be able to get it ready in time, it will be a real shame if it can't make it again.

Me to. Let us hope the weather reports are WAY off. Saturday looks like the best day 4 days out...

On the really good side, I got a call tonight confirming accommodation 1/2 hour away from Omaka for a week around Easter!!! plane.gif

Lucky bugger! I managed to pack the kids off to see Grandma in oz for easter, so I'm FREE for Classic Fighters...only problem being a severe lack of accomodation anywhere close! angry.gif

I'm hoping to make it to Omaka this year too - a group of us from AAC will be taking a couple of 172s down, just got to hope the weather is suitable. I've been to Wanaka a couple of times but it will be my first time attending the Omaka airshow.
