This is certainly the best out of all their efforts lately -- it manages to squeeze in a lot of information in an easy to understand way, and it is genuinely funny.

It comes across as a little bit on the 'budget airline' kind of approach for me, rather than classy national carrier, but I did warm to it as it progressed. Paul Henry is brilliant (miss him!). Certainly funny

I just wonder what sort of passenger groups AirNZ are trying to attract? It seems like they are trying to get the 10-14 year olds onboard, judging by this safety video. Not the mark of a classy airline, and certainly to me, it sends out the wrong message. Very unprofessional.

No vote from me, hope that this is replaced before long.

smooth landings.

whathesaid.gif I thought I was the only one who thought that ! I generally don't like that style of video and I specifically don't like Richard Simmons, so if that came on while I was in the cabin I would be the one wearing earplugs and reading the passenger safety card.

I know about aisle lights and masks, I'd have scoped out the exits and counted rows before my butt hit the seat, I know where to put my bags (I'm a giraffe ??? A giraffeopotamus maybe) and there is absolutely nothing in my slowly failing memory that I would want to lose in order to remember that dross.

Like many of us here I know we are aviation minded and therefore we do respect aviation safety messages. However I've always noted that many, if not most average travellers don't - heads down in magazines while the crew demonstrate safety features. Since these more lighthearted videos have started, the attention rate has increased. Thats got to be a good thing and ANZ have eraned accolades arround the world for their novel approach.

I'm struggling to understand the relevance of the new video- the old one which was All Black themed would have been perfect during the RWC, but apparently ANZ disagree..

Tom , i agree .. bloody stupid and no relevance to ANZ ... better off having a Gaddfi than an over sized real life Bart Simpson tongue.gif

If Qantas, AA, BA or anyone else posted a new safety video, I bet it wouldn't get as many views as these ANZ ones. To me ANZ has always 'seemed' a conservative airline, but with this makes them seem like a fun airline, reminds me of freedom, and Virgin - both airlines that attract a lot of attention.

We follow this information, as mentioned earlier, because we have a love of airlines, planes and anything relating to these. But the general Joe Blow no longer sees airline travel as glamourous - more as a bus with wings. So to come up with something funny as a safety video, means people will watch it, and the next one, and the next one. I've watched it a couple of times, and picked up something different each time, as well as providing all the information required.

Good on them for thinking outside the square - I may not like Simmons, but I loved the video - and I'm a long way from 14...
