Air New Zealand 737-3 made an Emergency Divert into Hamilton this morning - Hats off to the pilots they made an Awesome landing considering the aircraft was Assymetric.

Had it been an Arbust they would not have made it ... why do they paint those Strykers green .. Answer : so they hide in the airport grass and turn there sprinklers on when required biggrin.gif

OK that makes sense ... I was imagining an aircraft that had different wings on either side or something... didn't even think of an engine failure.

Pfffft, I've flown easily with only one engine out of four due to them being shot from the plane in IL2 during bombing raids. Nothing to it! blink.gif /sarcasm

I really hate nearly all white planes, I know the reasoning etc, but yeah. Anyways - well done to the pilots.

Lawrence , Airways airlines paint there planes white (budget) Air force paint there planes grey (budget) shoulder mounted SAM comes in a army green case , once pulled out they seem to be all white , its a vicious circle . tongue.gif

Isn't that the same 737 that had an engine failure/flame out on a NZCH-NZQN flight a few years back?

I think that was the footage that was filmed from one of the property's located on the terminal side of the airport that screended on TV3? - if it was mine they certainly didn't contact me about it and I didn't offer it to them.

someone please remind me to wear ear plugs in future - 737 engines are a little noisy at full power.

ZK-NGD Departs Hamilton approx 7.05pm this evening - you can't tell by the video but it was an impressive climb out.
