Huey Question

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Postby SeanTK » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:58 pm

I've recently regained interest in flying my Nemeth Designs UH-1C and H in FSX, and of course, have downloaded a current RNZAF livery.

I've seen numerous images of the current (gray) Huey liveries, but have also come across one in a museum that was in green camouflage (sort of similar to the old Skyhawk liveries).
Now, I'm wondering what livery variations were used in it's history with the RNZAF, and if anyone has better pictures of any green/camo examples (Google Images is coming up with nothing except for one image).

Thanks,
-Sean

EDIT: OK, some more images would be great if you have them, but I was actually able to dig deep enough to find two decent camo example images, as well as the stuff in this thread:
http://rnzaf.proboards.com/index.cgi?board...amp;thread=6514

(Do a Cntl-F word find for "Huey" and after a few results you'll start hitting the images)

The scheme with yellow , late 1970s early 80s , used in many rescue operations in the alps and when the aircraft and squadron was based at Wigram .

IIRC correctly

The colour schemes went in chronological order (some at the same time):

Green with Fern roundel (short time only)
Green and yellow stripes as above with Fern Roundel (short time only)
Green and yellow stripes as above
Overall Green
Two tone green similar to USAF Euro One and Skyhawks
Grey

One offs
All White for UN work (leased Hueys)
Overall Orange for Antarctica
