Had a scramble to get to Wanaka today as there was a Hercules there. Watched it land and take most of the runway to stop, then it reversed into the main taxiway and shut off the engines. Caused a few problems with aircraft trying to get around it, as there is not much space for taxying at the moment with the marquees around. Not sure what the problem was, but they appear to have fixed it or decided that it was not serious, then departed about 45 minutes later.
First shot is of it doing so very low flying near the Clutha River. Would have been great to have been on that side of the river to get some close up shots of this!!!

and a shot of it parked with the crew inspecting it

The light aircraft could taxi UNDER the wing, but the Cresco of Skydive Wanaka was too tall, despite trying to taxi under the Herc. It ended up using reverse thrust to go back then around the side of the Herc, a much better idea !!

and a passing Harvard

More photos from Wanaka later, in the NZ aviation photography section,
smooth landings.
