When I was a lad (in the 80's thanks) ... I had a school chum from the Asplin family who owned the wharehouse in Rukuhia that old man Asplin had stored spares, gauges, switches and all manor of geeky delights recovered from the cockpits and fuselages of the aircraft that were melted down or disposed of entirely. We spent many an afternoon crawling around in the gloom of that building picking our way through all that gold, at least we thought it was.

Good times.

Twas the 70's for me out at Bexley before it was reallocated to it now , was an old Vampire in the dump .. tried to get my old man to trailer it , but kept mention another owned it .. it was in the bloody dump rolleyes.gif just across the road from fathers brother Uncle Hubert - the'Birdman of Bexley' , now he was way to COOL cool.gif
