Again nah .. the T-37 has twin puff off smoke .. only a quick glimps .. was T tailed and that was what caught me out but also the tiptanks and HPs .. had it been the Tweety , yeah would have had a confirm , fact is i thought i could ID a plane from 50 miles away .. Tim ohmy.gif this one got me stumped !

Yeah, I too caught a glimpse of it as it came towards me but its silhouette with the the T-tail made me think it was something like an ATR, or maybe Dash-8 further in the distance so I lost interest and then as it passed overhead the sound made me look up again and thought "??? the #@## what's that ???"

The sound and shape do fit with the L-29 Delfin, and if there's one down Timaru way that fits in too so that's what I'm going with at the moment. I think the hard-points were just the lowered undercarriage - all a bit difficult to figure from a distance though so could be wrong!

I don't think that Strikemaster has flown yet, I've heard there are some paperwork issues.

One of the documentary i have on the shelf here is about the Australian HARS Connie , paperwork was signed off for the aircraft was consider airworthy only for the US .. the Ozzie crews bouncing in and out of Pima Museum and Davis Monathan AFB waiting for some office worker in Canberra ... then course the aircraft not being rated since retirement in Australian skies ... the bouncing around with paper work cos one could not decide - all this took two years .. in the end it all come together but paperwork huh.gif can really muck ya day up .
