Busy day at Wigram

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Gidday guys , as promised some pics of the days goings on.

NZ 6205 final roll out of the hanger (and into another)
Not the best shots , just had to snap when i had time...it was all hands on deck today. I have to say, the old girl looks good ... not new by any means, but that was never the intention.

we had both tanks on one wing while the last bits were done, just to save space in the hanger. Moved them over , once the work was done, and put the centre line tank in place.

Something missing ...

Here it is

and still bleeding....

Randoms.

Repainters note : she carried both sqn (75 & 2) crests.

Outside:

and inside again..... with a friend.

Part 2 coming soon.

This might be an extremely obvious question, but what were the guys actually doing in the photos? Presumably this aircraft is no longer airworthy? Were they just making sure Ian hadn't flogged a few parts for his wall? tongue.gif

It never occurred to me that they would take the screens and HUD out of the cockpit too. A shame really. Museum could have let people sit in and maybe buy a photo if they wanted. I was just down in Christchurch and had scheduled a morning at the museum but thanks to a Wedding Trousers Emergency I had to put it off, which really really annoyed me.

Nope! I forgot to bring my trousers for the suit so got Shanghaied into trouser shopping. Turns out the morning of the wedding I'd forgotten my shirt too! So had to shoot out to get one of those as well. Bit of a disaster.

Nice photos Marty, I have to admit to a small twinge of jealousy though! Any idea of when it will be on display - or were the last photos of it being moved to a display area?
