Excellent link... thanks.

Wow what a turnout on the day.
Must've been most of Auckland there, and 300 aircraft!
And what a selection...

Excellent find. A real who's-who of vintage jets - and great to see the Sunderland airborne instead of rotting as a static display somewhere. A shame they didn't film it in colour and have stereo sound recording capability... when I get my time machine, I'll go back and film it in HD for y'all and post it up on the 'tube. biggrin.gif

Wow, this was amazing to see! Lots of my favourites on display there. What it must have been to see in real life, but that was 34 years before I came to NZ for the first time and three years before I was born! laugh.gif

Thanks for posting. thumbup1.gif

My Dad went to the opening - flew into it in a Piper Cherokee (?) from Stratford. I have his great slides from from the show (and many more from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s) which I would like to convert to jpegs when I have the time and knowhow.

You should have it done... there are specialists who batch scan negs and slides.
I had a whole lot done at the pharmacy in the local mall, not too expensive at all.

And please, not jpeg!
A 35mm slide I read somewhere, equates to about 24 Mpixels of information uncompressed!

Were you thinking uncompressed TIFFs or something else?
