Well, you dont really hear much from me in the real world section of the forums, mostly because I dont usually have any contact with real aircraft often. But today was my lucky day. It was really pouring down after lunch, and I was sitting in the shed, waiting for the rain to pass over. Then I heard the noise of an aircraft. However it sounded different from the usual Cessna's and stuff, so I picked up the umbrella and took a look outside. What saw me was amazing. A big bright yellow Freedom Air 737 passed right over top of me. I would say it was flying at about 200-400 metres high. It was low enough for me to make out the logo of the sun on the tail, and the writing on the side of the fuselage. Then it carried on with its jet engines wailing, off into the low clouds.

Also, it was heading southwest, and Hamilton Intl Airport is 40KM North west.

Weird...

God if Hamilton is 40km away I hope that plane didn't crash flying that low? You didn't hear a bang a few minutes later?

Freedomair dont fly 733s anymore, so quite possibly it may be another carrier such as airwork or something and they haven't yet changed the livery?

My friend was a Flight Attendant with Freedomair until they were taken over by "Zeal 320 Ltd". Which operates A320s on the Trans-tasman & Pacific routes to the Islands.

The only A320 left in Freedom colours is ZK-OJO, which is wearing the Warner Bros livery as part of a competition last year or year before & that livery has to to remain on the a/c for 2 years, so once that times up then all A320s will be in ANZ livery.

737, a320, whatever ;) I just guessed it was a 737 since it was small and had two engines B)

i'd put $5 on freedom air ending at that time too. with zeal320, freedom air is so close to Air NZ that they'll cease to exist within a few years.
