After hearing complaints about Air New Zealand's service, I thought I would start a poll asking your opinions on our country's domestic airlines.

Have your say here.

Air New Zealand

maybe its just because i'm a fanboi, but comparing it to Qantas- the aircraft aren't 15 years old and because they have 19 in the fleet there's always one to take up the slack if something goes wrong. my family's had bad experiences with Qantas, with flights being delayed a number of hours due to mechanical difficulties. My dad who works in the travel industry was talking to a Qantas guy- he said that Qantas don't really care about the NZ market- its really just an afterthought, a place to dump old aircraft from Australia.

in terms of in flight entertainment and food tho, Qantas has the edge. I haven't had the privilege of flying with any other domestic airline :o

Well considering 4 of them are under the same banner (Air New Zealand and Link) and therefore dont fly the same routes I wont be voting either.

What about the smaller carriers eg Air2there, Mountain Air, Vincent Aviation, Air National etc etc etc.

Some are charter yes but some have fixed schedules so hows this a reflective poll?

I thought there are too many to list, so I have the option "Other- please state"

Personally I have flown both Qantas NZ and Air NZ Domestic and prefer ANZ. Their crew where more friendly ;)

I voted for Freedom. It was nice when they were flying domestically. Nowadays, I don't know...

Howdy,

Semantics, actually. :D

The latter three examples are really (semi-scheduled) charter operations.

Air2there is, at best, a regional air service. A2T's "zoning" system does allow pax to travel outside the home zone, but you still have to charter an a/c ... and ... ensure you fill the minimum # of seats needed before they will fly you to a location beyond their home "band".
