Very interesting... Way back in FS you could "fly through the boxes" on an approach, haven't done that in years. (Is it still a feature?)
I do hope someone doesn't ever switch off the GPS satellites, it wouldn't just be NZQN in trouble...

It wasn't that long ago if the cloud was like that it was to the pilot choice whether he was going to divert, that was in the day the 146 first stopped into Queenstown and back then Ansett NZ got the weather reports from the UK !

Don't laugh, there are 5 satellites that are currently at "critical" status i.e. they are 1 failure away from dying and 1 replacement satellite was recently lost in an unsuccessful launch.
If they need to move a satellite to cover a failure in all likely hood they will pinch one from a quiet part of the world like the South West Pacific. There are already big RAIM holes over South Australia.
