So today, I was in my dorm room, and I saw three planes in formation; a Tiger Moth, a Wanganui Aero Work Cresco or Fletcher and either a Piper Cherokee or another similar aircraft. Of course, me being me, I was naturally excited, but I didn't manage to get any photos unfortunately. But then no more than twenty minutes later I saw a Vampire swoop over the skies.
Good god! Today must be my day or something!

The only reason I could think of is an air-to-air photoshoot? Anybody know what Gavin's up to?

It was a fly past for the funeral Of a great man and aviator Dick Stephenson.

A fletcher in the old WAW colours, Tigermoth and a Cessna 180. Three of the planes Richard used to fly.

Brilliant send off for such a humble fantastic man.

RIP Richard, you are going to be sorely missed by all.

Was an awesome send off SP.

Awesome man, awesome pilot.
The stories today were amazing, showing the calibre of Richard. Should make a movie smile.gif

Just been at his home, family has done a fantastic job with decorating. Model fletcher, photos.

Time to reflect for all.

Going to miss the big fella as all will. His heart was huge.

RIP

What an amazing way to send somebody off. Unfortunately I didn't know him, but he sounds like a truly amazing person, and a very fitting way to send him off. Thanks sponge. Rest in Peace Richard.

Re the Vampire, it may have been local man John Luff's Venom which is based at Ohakea. He also has a lovely Glasair at Wanganui.

Rest in peace, Dick - never met him but knew the name.
