Hey guys,

It's been a long time since I've made a useful post on here, so since I'm sitting in Yangon on a day off I figured I might as well show you what I've been up to the last few months. Just some crappy Instagram pics, the internet here is no good for much else.

One 1900D up here, yep. Many, many unusual things have been seen on that ramp in the two months since I've arrived!

Hey while your there are you able to get a photo showing the whole parking area (like from above or something?) I'm redoing my AI just now and I have a lot at Yangon. A sea of colours it is...

Try Google earth. It has reasonable resolution there.

We were number three to him and a Malaysian B737. Thanks to him I got to practice VOR holds for well over an hour

The weather was pretty bad but nothing that an A330 pilot shouldn't be able to handle...

There isn't anywhere to get up above the parking area unfortunately. There are 4 or 5 aerobridges at VYYY which are used solely by international carriers (Thai, Singapore, Air China, China Airlines, Air Asia, Nok Air etc), then all domestic carriers operate from the apron as pictured above. There are no marked parking bays and a distinct lack of any kind of organisation so the most realistic way would be to set them all to park randomly all over the apron

What do you guys use for cruise torque and rpm?

It's not a bad setup, has TAWS on the same screen which is handy. You can have it display a regular RMI but NDB approaches are a bit of a rarity so generally it stays on terrain mode.

Varies with cruise level and weight, but in the D model up here with a full load at FL180/190 it's generally about 26-2700 Ftlbs. At our company we always cruise at 1550rpm (high speed cruise, same as climb rpm). Works out to a cruise TAS of about 270 kts.

Ah cool. Yea we either use 2500lbs or 3000lbs for 'high speed cruise', both with 1400RPM.
