Ian you will love this.

I had a conversation with the dispatch engineer during the turnaround at Sydney on Friday. He seems to be in the know that Air NZ is close to placing a Billion dollar order for A320Neos and A321s.
In an email I received It seems to confirm this and further suggests that the Neo has won out over the 737Max and that the A321 would carry approximately the same number of pax as the 767.

Interesting...I heard through the rumour mill that another narrow body order was on the way. I guess there cant be too much wrong with the A320 series if they keep getting more?

I believe these will replace older A320s. Air NZ nowadays seems committed to keeping a young fleet. I am betting that 787s will replace the 777-200s in time as well as the 767s. But what do they replace the 1900Ds with?

Seems they are going to squeeze everything out of the ARBUST ... even simulation developer's are get pushed into make one rolleyes.gif

1900's are the middle child with a 2001 service start. There are ATR's (1999) that are older and the Dash's (2005 into service) are younger

At least the ATR is still in production ... there is no direct replacement for the 1900. The q300 may also be problematic in replacing unless capacity can dictate the ATR or q400 as a replacement

Announced last night. 13 A320 neos including at least 3 A321s and one extra standard A320 (domestic)

I was thinking of install the Airbus for this months theme, that would go down well with you lot ... but I thought that will be a later project .

Agree , although i dont mind the look of the 320 .... my favorite is the super long A-340 .

Well, that order for new A320neo Family Aircraft might be better, but my favourites are the A330, A340, A350 and A380

Well, Ian is not happy about this and Airbus Aircraft, I had a experience with a A330 of Fiji Airways, Good service, although a few bumps of turbulence, but a good plane.

No bad effect on me and my experience on a A330! Well back in 2010, my elder brother flew Air NZ on their A320 from AKL to NAN with the Seat option. He thought the service was unpleasant, no food given to him but no bad effect on him as well!

Overall, I am satisfied about Airbus Aircraft. The A380 is the BEAST of all.

ARRBUST are the 320s ... 330 least they have there own look .. typical of the French .. try and make something looking like a 747 ... and what they get ... Mister Knobbly Blobbly .. and they call themselves artists ... I cut me ear off .... whoops that has happened rolleyes.gif

So you say that the A330/A340 are good and the A320/A321 are bad. How about a A380?

From the other Ian I like the 330 and 340 from an aesthetic perspective.The 380 looks like a modified Super Guppy and from personal experience flying from Singapore to London on the lower deck in one,it felt as though the landing gear was going to come up through the floor such was the noise.Reminded me of a double decked cattle truck -you get the picture and I was in the centre aisle immediately adjacent to several noisy and smelly babies ,so my opinion maybe considered somewhat biased as a result.

The A380 is a mighty machine, but IMHO, it wants at least another 3m of fuselage ahead of the wing, before it even approaches the elegance of the A340, especially the -500.
As to the others, they are just tubeliners, and if it wasn't for those weird winglets, you would be hard pressed to decide which was a Bxxx and which was an Axxx

Sorry Mike , the A380 is an ugly bit of kit .... very ugly .
All preceding models were very elegant ... and then they did that!
Dont want to turn this into a B vs A contest , but from an aesthetic point of view .... its ugly.
