From the New Zealand Warbirds Association:

"T. T. Bland 1936 - 2014

It is our sad duty to inform you that our Patron and Founding President Trevor Bland strapped in for the last time and departed from us at 1130hrs today.

Our thoughts go to Kathy and all of the family members at this sad time.

... Meantime, it’s opportune to reflect on the impact that Trevor had on us as individuals and the respect accorded to him by the Warbirds fraternity both in New Zealand and overseas.

RIP Trev."

Trevor will certainly be missed. I had the pleasure of meeting him and showing him around whilst in the RNZAF. A true Gentleman. RIP Trevor.

This guy is going to get one hell of a send off ...

you going through every New Zealand aviation history book , the RNZAF history and the recent Skyhawk book mention half a dozen times .. the first to break the sound barrier in a RNZAF aircraft , - Canberra's to Skyhawks , I also met Trevor when he first parked his P-51 at Wigram in 1985 after that just his continuation and contribution to NZ Warbirds.

A TRUE LEGEND ! .
