ANZ557 NZAA-NZCH landed at 2008hrs and brought the curtain down on Air NZ’s 737 ops.

She’s had a busy last day too!

NZ405 Auckland-Wellington

NZ412 Wellington-Auckland

NZ441 Auckland-Wellington

NZ448 Wellington-Auckland

NZ521 Auckland-Christchurch

NZ532 Christchurch-Auckland

NZ557 Auckland-Christchurch

She overnights in NZCH tonight before flying a good-bye tour from Tues 08/09 spread over a couple of weeks. From CHC she heads to IVC/DUD/CHC/WLG/NPR/TRG/AKL local – multiple times then back to CHC –bowing out on the 21st.

It is a fitting that this month is the last for the 737. On Sept 18, 1968 NAC as customer '19' for Boeing - all NZ Boeings are 7X7-x19 gets its first 737-200.

The first Boeing 737-300 joined the mainline fleet on 9 January 1998 when ZK-NGA was delivered in a special “Millennium” colour scheme. Freedom Air has 733’s in service in 1996. A total of twenty-three Boeing 737-300s have operated for Air New Zealand with twenty-one being company aircraft and two operating on short term. Air NZ actually purchased the last 737-300 ever built, ZK-NGJ, which was delivered on December 1999.

The 733 was used on Trans Tasman and some Pacific flights however with the arrival of the first Airbus A320s in 2003 the 737-300s were moved to Domestic duties where they have remained ever since.

One off the Classic video's is the 25th year 737's operated in New Zealand , cover's the registration to a flight from CHC to NZQN ... also covers that footage.

Biggest thing now Sean is who is going to produce a historical documentary we can proudly put up on our shelves in DVD form .. as pointed out , the cargo jobbies will hanging around NZ till (NZ rego) till over the 50 years , then you get the internationals that could be added , sure someone is working on that now... the original 25 year 737 doco is brilliant , so it give a lot off extra material .. maybe even going into the engineering side and even simulation side off it .

That is the shorten down video just for Utube, it is a goody. B-) Specifically try it in your Captain Sim 737 or the Milviz 737
