Interesting to note , there was an MC -130 on the ground there for about 20 minutes this evening. Jonos not sure if his shot came out .. it was dark .

Its odd ... when i was looking through the vast archive of the boys photos to find that MC Pic .
It was taken on the same day Sophia was here last year ... photos of them both on the same day.

Be a combined effort , one for the heavy duty work and the other as a comm's backup also measuring other levels to compare.

This has been in the NOTAMS for the last couple of days also

I think saw that MC 130 over Tauranga today. Don't think it was a RNZAF one as the nose looked different ... and there was few more protrusions out of the fuse but it was some distance away

I would say you be right , couple years back we had three different types outta CHCH .. all those knobbly bits stick like 'dogs balls'.

The MC130's (three in the country now) are all over the place at all sorts of times. The one through CHC earlier ended up night VFR around the Southern Alps then to Nelson before heading back to Whenuapai.

They will be comm's and data backup for the NASA jobby floating around , three of them the tho ?

Maybe they're collecting night-time textures for top-rank NZ developers like our Rob?
