I have seen recently it has been doing weird things, when I goto login I generally have to go to a topic peruse it then return via "Board Index' and all is working , including mini-chat , never thought much about it , so It could be a little glitch in there somewhere.

Hello Marty - this is from the FAQ page (button at the top)

Why do I get logged off automatically?
If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you login, the board will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, check the box during login. This is not recommended if you access the board from a shared computer, e.g. library, internet cafe, university computer lab, etc. If you do not see this checkbox, it means the board administrator has disabled this feature.

I don't do that, but I have not been caught out by it - If I am posting some lengthy thing, I get it ready in NotePad first, then copy/paste. Sometimes needs tidying up of paragraphs etc, but that does not take long.

that's annoying, there may be a timeout setting, I'll take a squiz.
one thing I would say though from experience, across all web based systems, if I ever find myself typing more than a couple of paragraphs I ALWAYS hit select-all and CTRL-C to copy the text just in case things go wrong.

write it in notepad ... work on it at leisure ... copy and paste into a post when ready ... final format (if any) ... post ... done
