If your going to be in wellington for this long weekend, maybe worth taking a trip out to NZWN. Cathay Pacific will be testing there aircraft on Welllington's short runways. Which is the A350.

There undergoing the A350 test tonight at Wellington. I stand corrected its a test A350 it was the media confusion with Cathay Pacific.

Funny that - when the original post appeared I had a look at NZWN weather and saw it was bloody-minded as ever: balmy with 13km/h winds, not likely to test anything really.

The conditions for the test are ideal when there is reasonable amount of rain and light winds. Wellington's grooved runway assists the surface water to flow off and improve friction for wheel braking. Wellington's wind in most cases assists aircraft by providing extra resistance on landing and assistance with lift on take-off.
Ideally there is limited wind when the testing is being undertaken.

You do need the shower facility, so A380.
Maybe Singapore Airlines does the job?
