Perhaps another question for Towerguy, or a question for anyone who sits at the airport with their scanner running. This is from 'another forum' and I thought the clued up people here might know the answer to it

I know that Vincent Aviation are flying the B1900C and Air National the DHC8-100 for Air New Zealand link.

Can anyone tell me whether they are filing their flight plans in real life as RLK, calling themselves LINK or as VAL, callsign Vincent and NTL, callsign National, respectively?

Nup they are definatly calling themselves by their operator.. ie. Vincent and National (with the ANZ flight number). So if you are on NZ2337, the callsign for a Vincent 1900 is "Vincent 2337" or even just "Vincent 37"

I hear it everytime go flying, as most services from WLG to PMR are Vincent operated.

I've heard Vincent operate some flights into Dunedin mostly for Mount Cook, and they're always called 'Vincent xxx", so if it's supposed to be NZ5053, it will be 'Vincent 53'.

well no both are vincent national only has poofy little j32's but yep you guys are right except for private/charter flights each aircraft has its own number, the only two i remember are 'vincent 10' for the 182T and 'Vincent 40 or 41' for the dash.

Yes, Air National did operate a Dash 8 for a while, but is that not the exact same aircraft that is now operated by Vincent

Actually you might be right there Jenks! http://www.airnational.co.nz/aircraft.php They don't mention the Dash at all on their own webpage.
