Shalom and greetings all my pals,

For first time, I have decided to take plunge into the world of Orbx by buying few payware Orbx airport sceneries and getting few freeware Orbx sceneries.

This include payware YMML Melbourne airport scenery and freeware ground textures for entire island of Tasmania that includes freeware YMLT Launceston airport.

Now I have a question, please.

Does anybody know what airlines and historic jet planes served for not only flights from Australia to any airport in the island of Tasmania but also for flights within the island of Tasmania?

Would love to recreate real world historic jet flights from Australia to the island and within island of Tasmania.

Ansett and QANTAS both operate or operated jets to Tasmania. Google is your best friend when it comes to things like this

From the mid 1960s to the early 1990s Tasmania was serviced by TAA (later renamed Australian Airlines), Ansett-ANA (later Ansett Australia ) and their subsidiaries. QANTAS did not operate in the domestic market at that time. East-West Airlines was owned by TAA and Airlines of NSW by Ansett; both of these used Fokker F28 Fellowships, and B727-200s and did holiday packages to Tasmania, as well as serving regional NSW areas.
For economic reasons, Ansett and TAA usually purchased the same types, DC-9-30, B727-100 and -200, B737-300 and -400.
After that things got very messy. Ansett went broke in the budget airline price war, and TAA became part of QANTAS, who re-appeared on the domestic scene.
HJG has a lot of suitable planes and liveries. If you search the usual places for the company names you will find more. A lot of repaints were lost in the OzX hack.

Tasmania is a very small place - Launceston is only a couple of hours' drive from Hobart so the internal stuff is done by small operators.

Thanks for answer but I prefer to ask NZFF members including you because NZFF members and you are 5 million times more accurate and more informative about New Zealand and Australia commercial aviation than Google can provide unless Google itself is a New Zealand native.

BTW, I am too embarrassed to forget to ask about what cargo services airlines and historic jet planes served for not only cargo flights from Australia to any airport in the island of Tasmania but also for cargo flights within the island of Tasmania? Would also love to recreate historic jet cargo flights too to Tasmania from Melbourne.
