Hello everyone

I saw a little article in the press this morning about the A350-800/900/1000.
Also with the prefix XWB , extra wide body it says.
I found this intresting little video thingy and heaps of other stuff here.

Is there a A350 for fs yet ? All C could find was a A330 painted like a A350 lol
Or is there not enough performance data etc?

Can't help feeling there is a little catch-up pride involved in the A350, the 787 is such a good aeroplane.
The A350 has the same overall dimensions as the A330, and really amounts to a rework with newer engines and perhaps more composites.

But Boeing will sell 4 years' worth more product while Airbus try to sort out the troubled A380, and try not to overreach themselves with the parallel 350 programme.

You'd be hard=pressed to tell the difference between A330 and A350 variants, so maybe that's why nobody has bothered to produce FS repaints!

Yea, saw it a while ago. Struck me as perhaps Airbus' counter to the 777 or 787. :P

too little too late i'm afraid from airbus. the A350 seems like an 'also ran', a plane for competitions sake. i compared the A350-800 to the 787-900: they have the exact same range and MTOW :blink:
they should be focussing on getting the A380 out on time rather than producing a plane which is so far behind the 787.

The pilot of the DC-3 I recently flew with told me he hopes the A380 never comes to NZ.

Apparently it broke a wing during testing recently, and won't be in NZ for many years yet.

Imagine the scenario at LAX when say, two A380's have landed together. It would take about 3 hours to get through customs <_<

Despite all this, I will be at the NZAA lookout when it does happen to touch down here. Lots of airlines who have ordered the 380 such as Qantas, Emirates and Thai all have scheduled routes here, and they have widened 23L and created extra parking on the apron ready for it!
