A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Avalon Australia International Airshow 2025

Can't believe no ones posted about the show this year? I'd caught a few wee snippets here and there but this is a cracking round-up of some of the action. Even features one of RNZAFs new 130Js and a 757 ...

from the author: This years international airshow will go down in history for a number of different reasons, from plane crashes to broken American fighter jets, however despite a prevailing negative opinion on this years show, I thought it was wonderful and I had a fantastic time partaking. This video is a compilation of the best bits, display highlights, pyrotechnics, trade day visitors like the Honeywell & New Zealand 757s and so much more!

Watch on youtube.com

Can recommend "HD Melbourne Aviation" as a channel too, worth a sub, some glorious footage.

Very nice - I will get to Avalon one day. Couldn't do it this year as I was committed to Omaka. In any case, had I gone to Avalon I would probly still be swimming my way back

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

You know, eight years ago I posted here about a visit to Avalon.
For your re-enjoyment:

Poseidon is a very interesting object - a commuter airliner with so very many spikey bits.
It's a Force, and a smart buy for NZ.

Yes that is one airshow that I must get to see.
This year’s one didn’t start well.

Man, that pilot in the biplane had a lucky (relatively) escape.. anyone seen any further news, last I saw was in stable condition?!?!?!

On a brighter note.. my fave from the show was Thunderbird 2 (aka the C-17 >buck< )

That, and the other MD product, the F-15E.
Didn't notice if one came this year...
What's the "broken American fighter" he references?
