I've found them to be pretty good in the past. Not as good as Singapore Airlines, but above average all the same.

Might be an idea to check out Skytrax to see what other people think of Thai as well. ;)

I was lucky enough to fly with Thai back in 2004 when hey still had the BKK-SYD-AKL route. And the onboard service was excellent. I would not have any trobles flying with them. The only thing I hated was the way the flight attendents said "Coffee" and "Tea". "Coffeeeeeeeeeeeee" and Teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea". After 2 minutes with that you pluged the headpone into the radio and just stayed there until they had finished. Oh. And then the "safety annocement". It was played ion both an Thai version and a English version. The Thai version was so funny the first time, but when you have seen the video 2 times you hated it ecpecially the Thai version.

The food onboard were also okay. Flying into Australia they served an Australian breakfast. So the meals were made after the destination. And the food was not even bad. It was done well, and was tasty.

Flew with them to Thailand at Christmas 2005 and found them to be rather good. Liked the food and great in-flight entertainment system. The staff were very friendly and pleasent. Not as much leg-room as the 747 (we were on the A340), but it was still okay for me (I'm 172cm tall) but according to the purser, there were some complaints about the leg room, particualry from those transferring from a 747.

I would fly with them again and rate them alongside Singapore Air as my two favourite carriers to date.
