Check this out - amazing! - Check out all the current flights in the US at once - wow no wonder there isn't more mid air collisions!

And then there's Flight Aware; just not on Google Earth.

Or you could use Trac Plus which tracks a few Rescue Helicopters in NZ do a search through some of the Rescue websites and you shall find them.

Helicopters using it so far are,

Lion Foundation Rescue Helicopter (Otago)
Solid Energy Rescue Helicopter (Greymouth)
Westpac Rescue Helicopter (Christchurch)
Summit Rescue (Nelson)
Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust
Ackland Regional Rescue Helicopter Trust

SQ350

Is there anyway to track international and domestic flights into and around NZ?

If so, that would be really neat in combination with my air scanner plugged into my roof aerial! 8)

there is a program out there, but it is payware, we used it at my rental car agency for a while to try and give us accurate time when planes where coming in, worked really well, but was very expensive sorry i can't remember the program title, might have been flight tracker of something like that, covered the whole world from memory, but they are very. very strict who they trail it too

I think that's what they have at Vincent Ops. You can see every a/c flying in New Zealand/From or to NZ, or you can change it to show every aircraft in the world. It shows type, alt, hdg, departure airport and destination and flight number. Only airliners though, no GA. I'll try find out when I'm down there next what it's called winkyy.gif

I think the one your're thinking about is Flight Explorer (www.flightexplorer.com).

It is US$10 a month for the most basic version, but this shows all aircraft in New Zealand airspace including Auckland Oceanic FIR. Its quite nifty and is really accurate.
