I have just read in Australian Avaition that someone or some company in NZ are taking delivery of a new Boeing BBJ this month - not sure whether this is true or not - anybody know? It is certainly not mine.

Not likely his Global Express carries US reg for tax and resale reasons apparentlyronindanbo wrote:QUOTE (ronindanbo @ Nov 1 2007, 02:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I saw a brown 737 500? parked up in the Akl business jet park yesterday, it looked pretty impressive with its wingtip thingies.

Could do, part of the reason the global has a US rego is it would be first of type in nz and would be big pain in anus to put on register however the 737 wouldn't be first of type as pac blue has the 800s.
But as naki said good reasons to keep on the US register are tax and resale and also to keep seperate to the nz feds so they're not bugging them all the time and too far away from the us feds for them to be a pain. Does have it's disadvantages though..

There is a story about biz jets in this months metro magazine. It refers to the BBJ, and how it is Graeme Hart who owns it.

I should correct yak52dude, there was one a while back being refitted by safe air. I think it was VP-BBJ.

On the subject of unknown aircraft- apparently there is an all white airbus down at NZAA, reg: P2-AMG or something along those lines- anyone know what it is?

Well thats a Papua New Guinea rego...

Yes - there have been BBJ's here at Woodbourne. Speculation was, that the first, undergoing an internal refit was owned by one of the two NZ brothers who are the richest kiwis around. I can't recall their names but they are tied up with interests in Dubai & Singapore. There is currently a second BBJ here at the moment, owner unknown.

It's actually a 767-300; P2-ANG. It was with Air Niugini, but I think it was leased long term from Air New Zealand, so presumably it's being returned to them now?

Ah ok- I couldn't find any mention of it on the Air Niugini wiki page. Is it returning to ANZ colours now, or being sold off to Flyglobespan or something?
