Tauranga Airshow
Sunday 17th February 2008.
Gates open 8:00 am
Adults $10 / Accompanied Children free.
Free Car Parking
The Sport Aircraft Association NZ Inc has been successfully organising and operating Air Shows for at least 20 years and this will be the third consecutive Tauranga Air Show that we have run.
While the primary focus for the event is on sport and recreational aircraft the airshow is always a thrill packed event that will include a ballance of military, warbird and commercial aircraft as well as a number of custombuilt and unique aircraft from all over the country.[/quote]
More info here: http://taurangaairshow.co.nz/
It's just over a month away- so who here from NZFF will be attending? I'll be first to put my name down!

Ill most likely go, What defines Adult

I see on the website that Doug Brooker's doing an aero display - I'm guessing that won't be in the Spit then?

No - I think his Spitty arrives on the 5th of Feb. It might be his new aerobat (MX-2) though.
Its a tough decision, that weekend there is also the Devonport wine and food festival, which will be a lovely drunken day in the sun.... and also been invited to a weekend away in Waihi......
i went last time and was cool!!!!!!!!!!
going this year too
going this year too
I reckon I might pop over as well (it's literally a 40min drive lol). Would be nice to meet up with the guys I saw up in Whenuapai early last year, and to see the aircraft.

I'd love to get over there, as it'd be a great chance to meet up with you guys and finally check out the Classic Flyers Museum. All I need is transport....anyone near Wanganui or going through willing to take a fare-paying passenger?
Alternatively I can get m A into G and get that car of mine fixed....
What sort of warbird presence can be expected? I see Dak, Trojan (
), PBY and Harvards....must admit It'd be nice to see some of the homebuilts tho....

Dont know many of yaz but keen to hookup if you're getting a possie together,
will probably drop the missus at the beach for the day and head to the airport.
Warning for those who havent been to the TGA show before, there's not a lot
of shade from the sun so bring sunscreen, a hat, and water. :-)
Here's a wee vid and some stills I shot then...

Tim Sullivan said once at a Young Eagles meeting that DOT or EBX might be going up there to help out with the planes or something like that.

Thanks for the link- I spent quite a bit of time browsing your album there, you have heaps of amazing shots, especially from Raro!
I myself will be a first timer this year, I'm just wondering where the crowd is positioned at the airport? Do they let everyone stand on the apron or is there a paddock next to the runway where everyone lines up?
