Just been watching this plane going back and forward over Hamilton all day in a grid system ,passing every 15min or so

i take it ,its a gps mapping plane ZK TL_ or something, just interesting the wip on the rear and how low its been going over even diving alittle from about 500ft

..
and just so you know im in the middle of a city ..
here it comes again gotta go :lol:

EDIT:this guys a ninja ,i didnt even hear him coming this time

and just a added extra md500
looks like a south island one

Definiely a Cresco and not a Fletcher. Yes it is designed for geophysical survey work. I'd assume its being tested after being fitted out at PAC in Hamilton ??

Yes and Yes.

GE uses that one for purely gravimetric and magnetic work. For mineral exploration they use a $2M Resolve unit : http://www.heliworks.co.nz/Charters/Geophysical-Survey.asp It got caught on power wires once and was jettisoned twice due to swinging in gusts.

As far a geophysical work it's about as low tech as it gets and only good for large ore deposits and large geothermal fields.

We've been hearing that Cresco doin its thing for a few weeks down here in the South Waikato...
Made a passing comment to a work mate about a lot of topdressing going on out her way (she owns a farm out behind town)
She said "Nah, looks like one of them noisy b@$%^*ds, but hes flying in long straight lines and had a long sting thingee hanging out the back"
I came to the geophysical conclusion and gave her a quick explanation since I've seen them doing it in Aussie a few times.
