Low flight over Auckland on Tuesday

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Mum and Dad reported a plane doing a low pass over Auckland CBD around noon on Tuesday (1 April), then the same plane making another pass soon after as though it had been somewhere and was now coming back. No description as it was too low to be seen, but lots of noise :-)

Anyone know what that was about ?

Cheers

Might have been the Warbirds DC-3, they did a low flyby over NZAA the other day too.

I think it would have been related to the parade the Air Force had in the city - probably a Hercules or Orion?

orion : from proboards:
Auckland will be doing a charter parade down Queen Street on Tuesday. Seems most of base is on it as they had to borrow Steyrs from other places...
Sadly I'm not on it, I'll be on the flypast P-3. Much more fun

The first would have been around 1130 and the second just before 1200. There was meant to be a seasprite with us for the second one but it was bought forward 20 mins with very little warning so they didn't have time to start up... Perhaps the parade was marching fast because of the rain!
