It said in the article that it would cost hundreds of thousand to repair, and they retire in 2010....are they actually going to repair it? I can't see much of a point in repairing it, just use it as a parts donor for the other 20 F-111s.
Bird strike of the year goes to the RAAF so far!

Of course they will repair it - a couple of hundred thousand is not a lot of money in the bigger scheme of things, when it comes to maintaining jets. Most of that will be in stripping and rebuilding the engine.
