An Airbus A310 crashed in Sudan.
RIP to everyone who died (28 people apparently).

QUOTE
A jetliner burst into flames Tuesday after landing in Sudan, killing at least 28 people, officials said.

Khartoum Police Chief Mohammad Othman Mohammad Noor said "a defect" in the Sudan Airways plane caused it to catch fire as it touched down.

"The fire then led to an explosion on the aeroplane," he said. "There was a large number of passengers on the plane, some of whom survived. The number of casualties is still unconfirmed at this time."[/quote]

I heard about this this morning. Sad news :( RIP to all those killed.
They said this morning that 100 people had been killed in it. The media always go over-board.
The crew survived so that should be a help for the investigation.

Just saw this on 3news- apparently it took multiple attempts at landing during a sandstorm, then exploded on the ground while taxiing to the gate...

Yea, conflicting reports. Some say it skidded off the runway then exploded, others that an engine exploded after a 'normal' landing...
