I was shown this by a workmate, no idea how strong the wind was but quite amazing to watch.

I heard reports of how it couple weeks back , BUT to see that .. EYEOPENER ... bit scary if someone was half way stepping on the 73 ......Opps ? .. mm yeah i don't think so

But then .. if it was so strong .. QANTAS 73 taking off in headwind ... why did the nose skew against it !


looking again .... conditions like the wind channeled - hit the main building ... WINDY WELLY for sure

I haven't seen it either. Just goes to show how strong wind can be, it can move a 40 ton aircraft. Maybe videos like this should be displayed in airports that are closed due to the weather? Then people that aren't as smart as some can see why they can't fly.

The answer Ian is pretty simple - the wind was acting on the tail of the plane not the nose. A bit of a worry for sure but then again depending on conditions the nosewheel isn't exactly taking too much weight.

i posted that in real world aviation/NZWN closed aswell as an explanation to how it happened. (i was one of the people working on the aircraft at the time lol)

So what happened after the video stops?

Did they push it back or just realign the airbridge?

yeah we pushed it back about 25mtrs then brought it back into the bay and re attached the bridge. but we made sure the passengers were all up the front this time smile.gif
