787 Update

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Jon Ostrower's blog provides an excellent insight into the 787 programme.
This three-part look seeks to put in a broader context the current state of Boeing's 787 program.
All quotes from 787 program chief Pat Shanahan come from an interview and media briefing conducted at the Farnborough air show in July.
You need Big Balls to drive a programme like this.
They even invent their own jargon to decribe the process...

I'm just wondering why everyone is sitting on their hands about releasing the definitive 787 for Microsoft Flight Simulator??

Are there any 787 models?

Interesting link by the way Charl, thanks for sharing.

There are, but fairly lightweight (Versluys, Camsim).
I see PMDG is doing an MD11 instead...

yeah but they have been making the MD-11 for a number of years now (probably before the 787 was even finalised) - the good news is that the PMDG MD-11 is in beta testing.
