Just saw a piece in the Swedish newspapers that an old 747-200 that is at Stockholm Arlanda ARN airport is going to be converted into a hostel, and will be placed opposite the SAS Radisson hotel. It will be called the Jumbo Hostel (cannot think how they thought of that name!!) and may open in December. Not sure either how long the check in time will be and if you will not be allowed to take in any scissors!! Wonder if you will be able to visit the cockpit as well????

Not sure if this is the same aircraft, but last year there was an abandoned 747 parked at ARN,

PS That is an old caravelle that is just visible on the right hand side, got some pics of that if anyone is interested.

smooth landings.

I doubt there would even be much left of the cockpit by the looks of the plane, then again the engines are still there smile.gif

Cool Idea, shame its a hostel and not some nifty 5 star hotel lol!

That's pretty cool.
If I ever visit Sweden this could be where I would stay.
