RNZAF 757 was doing touch and goes (not sure if it really "touched") at Tauranga today - not sure if it could land there - would say the runway was too short.

We had it fly over Waikato Uni today at about midday, taking off from Rukuhia (NZHN).
Didnt seem to be in too much of a hurry, noise restrictions I guess?

Didnt need to ........ Old 1981 .. BAe146. Whisper Jet ...Today the 757 is that and better higher density class .... with the added extra power .. a real WHISPER JET

Really no different to a standard QC737, basiclly strength the floor , exactly same package done to the old 727 but suit today,s enviorment , i would have been a little excited had they wired and put hardpoints on the wing HAHA (joke) biggrin.gif ... then it would have been unique .

It came to Rotorua today, man it was cool.
I was doing PE when I heard a jets roar and looked over and there it was.
I think that sets a new record for the largest plane in ROT (up till now I think it was the 737 400)
It did 2 touch and go's i think before continuing on North (probably to Whenuapai)

On the 29th I was doing my MEIR flight test and as I was on the NDB/DME 18 Arc I had to orbit 3 times due to the 757 being on the outbound. Bloody annoying if you asked me.

That was awesome! thumbup1.gifdrool.gif
The sound of the jets was so much louder than the 737s we're used to.
It was wicked cool watching it come in nice and low through the clouds.
Nice to see the 757 out and about too.

Was that at ROT? The controllers can be a bit funny sometimes. Once they put the skydiving plane on hold because there was an arriving ATR overflying Taupo ohmy.gif
They like to clear out everything when there are bigger aircraft around.

Very cool, I heard it while I was in Calculus, and then it came past again...

No, at Hamo for sure. No ndb at RO anyway.
